Is a knee brace allowed in Air Force Basic?
I recently have been getting in shape and getting ready for basic and it seems I have developed a knee problem. It definetley will effect my performance. I was just wondering if there was a way I could use a brace in basic training. I leave within two weeks so I don’t have time to fix the problem, if it requires surgery or time, but with my current brace the injury pain is reduced significantly.
Probably not. I know that none of that was allowed at USMC basic, and if you required ti while you were there they would issue it to you. They prefer healthy and unaided recruits. They may stick you in a medical hold after you get there or tell you to recover and come back in a couple of months. But, the Air Force may do things differently. If I were you I would rest it as much as possible and hope it heals up. If not, they’ll find it during your initial medical screening at the base.
