Which gloves does the most damage … Boxing or MMA glove?
Boxing gloves are bigger and heavier then the 4 ounce gloves in MMA. Is there more chance of being cut with the MMA gloves as opposed to the boxing gloves, which in theory if heavier and hit on the chin would do the more damage. But I don’t know. You don’t see too many boxers get knocked out cold like I’ve seen in a lot of MMA fights after a punch lands flush on the chin. They get a count of 10 which enables them to regain their equilbrium.
Sea is correct. It is not the gloves that do the damage but the fist behind it and the less the padding, the worst damage there will be. If boxers used the MMA gloves there would be a lot more knockouts. The MMA gloves are barely gloves at all as they need to grip with their hands for the grappling portion of the fights so it is almost like getting hit with a bare fist.
